Health Physics Team and Radiochemistry Laboratory

  
  • Health Physics and Radiochemistry Team provides a full-service laboratory, health physics, and technician support for testing and technology demonstration.
  • Operates under a U.S. NRC broadscope license, with a capability of providing services to any location in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Assists in on-site surveys, leak testing, license compliance audits, emergency contamination control and clean-up, and consulting services
  • Radiation environmental and test sample collection, preparation, and analysis:
    - Wipe tests
    - Soil, water, sediment, vegetation, and air sampling capabilities
  • Liquid scintillation counting (200-400, 2-minute samples per day)
  • Gas-flow proportional counting (3 counters available)
  • Gamma-spectrometry counting (2 HP-Ge counters available)
  • Portable equipment for alpha-beta counting
  • Contractor support for alpha-spectrometry and ICP-mass spectrometry
  • Portable instrumentation for contamination monitoring
  • On-site health physics and technician support
