Meteorology Team
  • Supports wide spectrum of specialized atmospheric environmental measurements (NIST traceable and electronically-delivered) including:
    - Upper-air thermodynamic and wind data
    - Boundary-layer winds and stability
    - Soil moisture and soil temperature profiles
    - Solar and terrestrial radiation
    - Atmospheric scintillation and near-IR visibility
    - Rain-rate and raindrop spectra
  • Operates high-resolution four-dimensional modeling of the atmosphere and surface conditions for all APG ranges:
    - Forecast parameters on 3.3-km and 1.1-km grid squares
    - Dynamic integration of local measurements into 4-dimensional space
    - Meteorological models coupled with application models
    * noise propagation models
    * chemical dispersion models
    * atmospheric transmissivity models
  • Consulting services:
    - Globally-relocatable results through proper measurement strategy
    - Climatology planning and test design
  • Capability to acquire some kinds of meteorological data off-post
