Romney Creek Automatic Weapons Firing Range

  
  • An outdoor facility used to test weapons and ammunition (including high explosive) to long ranges. A straight, level, paved road extends the length of the range to permit firing at any desired distance. A firing house at the upper end provides a covered firing position and personnel amenities
  • Typically used for testing bursting munitions such as for the Objective Individual Combat Weapon and the Objective Crew Served Weapon, but adaptable to all small arms and light automatic cannons
  • Range accommodates firing through a large doorway from a portable mount
  • Provides graze impact on water, gravel, macadam, or sand
  • Targets can be erected to a range of 2000 meters
  • Maximum range of 2550 meters
