- An outdoor facility
used to test weapons and ammunition (including high explosive) to long
ranges. A straight, level, paved road extends the length of the range
to permit firing at any desired distance. A firing house at the upper
end provides a covered firing position and personnel amenities
- Typically used
for testing bursting munitions such as for the Objective Individual
Combat Weapon and the Objective Crew Served Weapon, but adaptable to
all small arms and light automatic cannons
- Range accommodates
firing through a large doorway from a portable mount
- Provides graze
impact on water, gravel, macadam, or sand
- Targets can be
erected to a range of 2000 meters
- Maximum range of
2550 meters
